“5 minutes of embarrassment is not going to kill you, but cancer can.

During Cervical screening week, Rebecca, one of our brilliant GRACE Woman spoke to Brooklands Radio about her Cervical Cancer experience. They talked about how she thought the HPV vaccine given to girls (and now boys) in schools protected against cancer, so refused to take a smear test and finally took a test at 27 she was diagnosed with cancer.

The cervical screening programme, which had been suspended due to COVID-19, has begun to be restored.

There will be prioritisation  for:

– Women invited but not screened and people with a delayed invitation

– Women invited for routine screening (due or overdue)

– Older women – especially for those that it might be their last smear

But anyone who is eligible, due a smear test and asks for it, will also be able get it.
