Sarah Morris

We’d like to give a Very Big Thank you to Sarah Morris!

If your new year’s resolution is to do more for charities and you would you like to fundraise for a local charity supporting women diagnosed with Gynae cancers, then take a leaf out of Sarah’s book.  Sarah came across GRACE when being treated for over 10 years by Simon Butler-Manuel for a non-cancerous gynae condition. She was so grateful for the treatment she had received, which she believes enabled her to conceive her beautiful son Alexander, that on hearing about the work he was doing with gynae cancers, his research programme and the progress he had made in improving cancer treatment, especially through the application of minimally invasive surgery using the da Vinci Robot, she knew that she had to help.  So instead of presents for her 40th birthday and in honour of Alexander’s First birthday in 2019 she decided to raise money for GRACE.  In Sarah’s own words….
If it wasn’t for Simon and his determination to give me the best chance of carrying a baby, we wouldn’t have our beautiful Alexander.  We went on last year to have an IVF baby, he is 1 now and we are having a party to celebrate me turning 40 last year and him being 1 this year. Hence it is 40+ 1! Our friends are all lovely and I don’t need things so this seemed a good way to raise funds for the research.
Sarah made a gift to GRACE of almost £2,500 which is amazing. Our sincere thanks go out to Sarah, her husband Adrian, to Alexander and all the family and friends who supported this initiative. Sarah also did her best to raise awareness amongst her family and friendship group by telling them not to forget their smears
