MIRRORS Study on BBC Radio Jersey

Mr Simon Butler-Manuel, the founder of GRACE, and Dr Christina Uwins a Senior Clinical Research Fellow in Robotics went onto BBC Radio Jersey to talk about the groundbreaking MIRRORS study and give helpful advice about knowing the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer.

“Essentially what we’re looking to see is where robotic surgery can perform the same surgery to remove all visible diseases present with these ladies with advanced ovarian cancer. Open or traditional surgery would normally involve a big large cut down the middle of the tummy.

The aim is to see, can we get people home sooner? Can we perform the exact same surgery with less blood loss and lower immediate post-operative risks?”
