Josephine Crow took on the challenge of the Lions 10k in Guildford on May 13th having seen the event on our website.
Jo decided to support GRACE to raise awareness of ovarian cancer, because when she was diagnosed with late stage disease last year, she had almost no symptoms. She truly believes that if she had been a busy working mother she would probably not have made time to go and see her GP about the slight intermittent “niggle” in her lower abdomen, but thank goodness she did.
Jo feels that ovarian cancer does not have nearly such a high profile as other cancers, and research into a reliable testing regime for all women over 50 is vital.
Jo and her husband Tim really enjoyed their walk and the weather was beautiful. Jo would like to thank everyone who supported her by donating. Jo’s philosophy on fundraising is great – just ask your friends for a relatively small donation – £10.00 paid direct into the GRACE bank account and just look what happens. She raised an amazing £673 to enable us to continue our work. Thank you Jo for your amazing strength of character walking all that way when you are still in chemotherapy and for raising such a fabulous total.
