Tele-oncology During the COVID-19 Pandemic

GRACE researcher Dr Praveena Idaikkadar is planning a project “Tele-oncology during the COVID-19 pandemic”. It was set up in response to covid when outpatient appointments were switched to telephone calls rather than face to face appointments in clinic.

The study intends to explore the views of patients with gynaecological cancers about telephone consultations, for example what aspects work well and which areas could be improved. It also aims to try to help clinicians choose patients who are suitable for telephone consultation versus those who should come in for a face to face review.

The study is only in the early stages and still going through the approval processes but will hopefully start recruiting later this year.
