Welcome Gemma!

This month GRACE is excited to welcome Gemma Hodgkiss, our new Fundraising and Communications Manager, we’ll let Gemma introduce herself:

‘I’m thrilled to be joining the team at GRACE. Having worked for healthcare and medical research charities in the past, I never cease to be amazed by the impact charities such as GRACE can make. The advancement of treatment and care as a result of new research or equipment funded by GRACE has made the most enormous difference to patients and their families. And it will continue to do so for many women across Surrey, West Sussex and neighbouring Hampshire where I live.
Similarly learning about GRACE’s work to promote early diagnosis of gynaecological cancers has been so humbling, as I hear the amazingly brave and honest stories of our GRACE Women.
For so many reasons, this has been a challenging year and ‘normal life’ may be on hold for a while longer. Yet to see the incredible support GRACE has been shown over the past months reassures me that we can look forward to a strong future.
Alongside the team, I’m excited to get to work to enable GRACE to carry on its vital mission to improve the survival rates for women diagnosed with gynaecological cancers but also improve the quality of that surviving life. It’s an honour to be part of this work and I look forward to meeting you – our supporters, fundraisers and campaigners who make all this possible – as and when restrictions allow. Please do get in touch anytime.
