In April, we said Farewell to three of our existing Trustees. Jane Hutley, Anne Jenkins and Dr Alex Stewart.

Jane was a founding member of the Trustees, instrumental in setting up the charity with Simon Butler-Manuel in 2005. She has been tireless in her support of GRACE over the last fifteen years, raising tens of thousands of pounds through the renowned and much missed GRACE Autumn Fair. We shall miss Jane’s business acumen, her energy and drive. Thank you Jane for all you have done for GRACE over the years.

Anne Jenkins has been our Treasurer for over 10 years and managed our finances with dedicated thoroughness. We can’t thank Anne enough for generously taking on this task and overseeing our finances with quiet authority throughout a long period of growth and expansion. We shall miss you.

Dr. Alexandra Stewart has sadly had to give up her role as a Trustee due to clinical and family commitments, but will attend our meetings as an Associate of the Board and will continue to support our fundraising and research initiatives.

WELCOME TO THE NEW FACES

Richard Willacy

Richard Willacy

Richard Willacy has joined the board as a Trustee and as our new Treasurer. Richard is a Fellow of The Chartered Instutite of Management Accountants (FCMA) retired – with over 23 years of experience and knowledge – working in shipping, logistics and the environmental service industries. He is experienced working with charities either as Treasurer or as an independent reviewer and currently works locally with the Samaritans. We warmly welcome Richard to our board and look forward to working with him.

Dr. Helen Nicks has also joined the Board. Helen is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Redhill and Crawley Hospitals and a member of the Gynaeoncology Multi-disciplinary Team, referring complex gynaeoncology patients from the SASH Healthcare NHS Trust for diagnosis and treatment at the Royal Surrey/St. Luke’s Cancer Centre. We are delighted to have Helen representing patients from East Surrey Hospital and other sites throughout Surrey and Sussex, and through Helen hope that GRACE can reach out to this catchment area to raise awareness of the Gynae cancers and the work that GRACE is doing. Welcome Helen.
