Sophie Butler-Mauel, daughter of GRACE founder Simon Butler-Manuel, will be running her first ever half marathon on behalf of GRACE this autumn. Here she explains why:

“My name is Sophie and I am running my first ever half marathon for my father’s charity, GRACE. This charity has always been very close to my heart, as it supports women of all ages with gynaecological cancers by raising awareness, funding research and providing local hospitals with vital surgical equipment.

GRACE is dedicated to research which will improve the treatment, recovery, and survival rates of women diagnosed in the future and I want to raise as much money as possible to this very important cause.

Any donations would be hugely appreciated, and will spur me on with my training programme!

This is a my first ever half marathon and the route is said to be very pretty through the heart of London – which is also my home!

I am training 3/4 times a week on a 12 week programme and so far loving it, though it’s tough. Really pushing myself as the furthest I’ve ever run before is 4km, so 13 miles is a big step up!”

To support Sophie on her training journey and help her to reach her £500 target, please donate via her BT My Donate page.
