Update: Tele-oncology During Covid-19

The GRACE funded questionnaire into the role of Tele-oncology beyond COVID-19 has now closed, although some participants are still taking part in interviews.
Dr Praveena Idaikkadar, who is funded by GRACE, carried out the study and has asked us to share this message with our supporters:

Over the last 2 months, we have run a study entitled “Tele-oncology during COVID 19”, which aimed to explore the views of patients around remote consultations (eg telephone calls) versus in-person appointments at the hospital.  On behalf of the whole team behind the study, I would like to say a huge thank you to each and every person who took the time to complete the online questionnaire and for those who have volunteered to take part in the interviews. Nearly 200 women with gynaecological cancer completed the questionnaire which will give us a deep and balanced insight into the views of patients around remote consultations. As we look to move out of lockdown it is so important that we listen to the views of our patients as we plan our next steps in these unprecedented times. We are now no longer running the questionnaire but will carry out remote interviews with some participants and of course, will keep you updated with the results as we analyse them. Thank you again for taking part in this study which we really hope will directly influence and improve patient care.

With best wishes

We very much look forward to hearing more from Dr Praveena once she and her team have fully analysed the results.
